Many lures are effectively coated with liquid paint
by dipping. Hundreds of small manufacturers have devised
a system of racks to hold jigs or other lures in place
while they are coated. Threaded rod from the local hardware
store has proven to be one of the most popular solutions.
Standard display pegboard is then used to hold the rod
of jigs while they dry or wait to be coated.
Because of the popularity of this method of painting,
we recommend our stainless steel Dip Tray. This easy-to-clean
tray is 1 1/2 inches wide and 1 1/2 inches deep and
can be custom ordered in any length. The tray is wide
enough to dip jigs up to 1 oz., yet with a small enough
surface area to prevent the paint from drying out on
the surface.
Simply hang jigs on the threaded rods, fill your Dip
Tray and lower heads into paint. Allow the heads to
drip twice and return to the pegboard rack. With a scrap
piece of cardboard or paper, lightly touch the bottom
of each jig as the last drip forms. The spot left will
close up as the paint dries. After all jigs are painted,
empty Dip Tray, clean with thinner, and change to your
color coat, and then on to the clear topcoat. production
of high quality lures.
Our stock Dip Tray is 1.5" x 1.5" x 16",
but the length can be customized to suite your specific
production needs.
Threaded dipping rods are also available.
